when demand increases, consumers are willing to buy more at any price. true or false?

Answers

Answer 1

The given statement  "When demand increases, consumers are willing to purchase more goods or services at any given price" is true. This is due to the increased demand leading to an increase in price, and people being willing to pay more due to the increased desire for the product.

When demand increases, consumers are willing to buy more at any price. This is because an increase in demand means that there is a higher desire or need for the product or service. As a result, consumers are willing to pay more for the product or service in order to obtain it. This is reflected in the demand curve, which shifts to the right when demand increases.

What constant-growth rate in dividends is expected for a stock valued at $32.40 if next year's dividend is forecast at $2.20 and the appropriate discount rate is 13.6% Which one of the following is a real asset?

Answers

The constant-growth rate in dividends expected for a stock valued at $32.40 can be calculated using the Gordon Growth Model. The formula for the Gordon Growth Model is:

Stock Price = Dividend / (Discount Rate - Dividend Growth Rate)

In this case, the stock price is $32.40, the dividend is $2.20, and the discount rate is 13.6%. Let's assume the constant-growth rate in dividends as 'g'. Plugging these values into the formula, we have:

$32.40 = $2.20 / (0.136 - g)

To find the growth rate 'g', we rearrange the equation:

g = 0.136 - ($2.20 / $32.40)

Calculating this, we find that the constant-growth rate in dividends expected for the stock is approximately 6.1%.

What is convertible bond?

An interest-bearing fixed-income corporate debt asset known as a convertible bond has the option of being converted into a certain number of shares of common stock or equity. During the bond's term, the conversion from bond to stock is possible at specific times and is often at the bondholder's option. A convertible bond's price is particularly sensitive to changes in interest rates, the value of the underlying stock, and the issuer's credit rating because it is a hybrid product. For businesses, convertible bonds offer flexible funding options. A convertible bond gives investors access to a hybrid instrument that includes the benefits of both a bond and a stock, including interest payments. The number of shares of stock you may obtain by converting one bond in this bond depends on its conversion ratio. A 5:1 conversion ratio, for instance, indicates that one bond would equal five shares of common stock.

buying a car math quiz question 3 of 10: over its first two years a new car loses at least 30% of its resale value. what will the average resale value of a new car costing $22,000 be after two years?

Answers

The average resale value of a new car costing $22,000 after two years will be $15,400.

To calculate the resale value after two years, we first need to determine the amount of value that the car will lose over that time period. Over its first two years, a new car loses at least 30% of its resale value.

Since the car loses at least 30% of its value, we can multiply the original cost of $22,000 by 70% (100% - 30%) to find the remaining value after two years. $22,000 x 70% = $15,400. So, the average resale value of a new car costing $22,000 after two years will be $15,400.

Answers

The current ratio for Cabot Organization is around 3.66.

To compute the ongoing proportion, you really want to isolate the organization's ongoing resources by its ongoing liabilities. The ongoing resources are commonly those resources that are supposed to be changed over into cash in no less than one year, while current liabilities are the organization's commitments due inside a similar period.

current ratio = Current Resources/Current Liabilities

For this situation, the ongoing resources and liabilities are as per the following:

Current Resources:

Cash: $10,000

Momentary speculations: $8,400

Money due, net: $33,700

Stock: $32,150

Prepaid costs: $2,650

All out Current Resources = $10,000 + $8,400 + $33,700 + $32,150 + $2,650 = $87,900

Current Liabilities:

Creditor liabilities: $17,500

Accumulated compensation payable: $3,200

Personal charges payable: $3,300

All out Current Liabilities = $17,500 + $3,200 + $3,300 = $24,000

Presently, we can ascertain the ongoing proportion:

Current Proportion = $87,900/$24,000 = 3.6625

Hence, the current ratio for Cabot Partnership is around 3.66.

The mechanism for thisreaction is known to occur in two steps, the first being protonation of the alcohol togive the oxonium ion 1 via a Lewis acid-base reaction (Eq. 14.10). This oxonium ionthen undergoes displacement by the bromide ion to form 1-bromobutane and water. This process is an SN2 reaction in which water is the leaving group and bromide ion isthe nucleophile. The sulfuric acid serves two important purposes: (1) It is a dehydratingagent that reduces the activity of water and shifts the position of equilibrium tothe right, and (2) it provides an added source of hydrogen ions to increase the concentrationof oxonium ion 1. The use of concentrated hydrobromic acid also helps toestablish a favorable equilibrium. No reaction occurs between 1-butanol and NaBr in the absence of strong acidbecause leaving groups in nucleophilic substitution reactions must be weakly basic(Sec. 14.1), as is water in Equation 14.10. If the reaction of 1-butanol and NaBr were tooccur (Eq. 14.11), the leaving group would necessarily be the strongly basic hydroxideion, a poor leaving group. Thus the forward reaction depicted in Equation 14.11 doesnot occur. On the other hand, the reverse reaction between 1-bromobutane andhydroxide proceeds readily because the leaving group in this reaction is the weaklybasic bromide ion.The mixture of hydrobromic acid and sulfuric acid may be prepared by eitheradding concentrated sulfuric acid to concentrated hydrobromic acid or by generatingthe hydrobromic acid in situ by adding concentrated sulfuric acid to aqueous sodiumbromide (Eq. 14.12). Both of these methods work well and give good yields of thealkyl bromide from low-molar-mass alcohols. The method of generating HBr in situis not effective with higher-molar-mass alcohols because of their low solubility inconcentrated salt solutions, so concentrated (48%) hydrobromic acid is used instead.Although the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid promotes the formation ofthe alkyl bromide, several side reactions involving sulfuric acid and the alcohol canoccur. One of these is esterification of the alcohol by sulfuric acid to form an alkylhydrogen sulfate 2 (Eq. 14.13).This reaction is reversible, and the position of the equilibrium is shifted tothe left, regenerating the alcohol from 2 as the alkyl bromide is produced. Theformation of 2 itself does not directly decrease the yield of alkyl bromide; rather,2 undergoes other reactions to give undesired by-products. For example, it sufferselimination on heating to give a mixture of alkenes (Eq. 14.14). It may also reactwith another molecule of alcohol to give a dialkyl ether by an SN2 reaction in whichthe nucleophile is ROH (Eq. 14.15). Both of these side reactions consume alcohol,so the yield of alkyl bromide is decreased. Fortunately, these side reactions may beminimized for primary alcohols by controlling the temperature of the reaction andthe concentration of sulfuric acid.It is necessary to use different procedures to prepare secondary alkyl bromidesfrom secondary alcohols because such alcohols are easily dehydrated by concentratedsulfuric acid to give alkenes by way of Equations 14.13 and 14.14. In fact, the acidcatalyzeddehydration of secondary and tertiary alcohols is a common method forsynthesizing alkenes (Sec. 10.3). This problem may be circumvented by using concentratedhydrobromic acid; however, it is better to prepare secondary alkyl bromidesby the reaction of secondary alcohols with phosphorus tribromide, PBr3 (Eq. 14.16).PREPARATION OF 1-BROMOBUTANE1.
