This question is missing some of the sentences. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

Use the drop-down menus to indicate whether each sentence from the article includes details that show setting.

1. In January 2009, Malala and her father sat in their living room drinking tea and eating beef and curry stew.

2. She was a global symbol of girls' rights but also just a kid.

3. Ellick remembered another time when they were out shopping in Islamabad, having fun and hunting for English language books and DVDs.

Answer:

Sentence 1 shows setting.

Sentence 2 does NOT show setting.

Sentence 3 shows setting.

Explanation:

Setting is the "where and when" of a story. It is the time, place, and social/historical context in which a story takes place. In sentences 1 and 3, there are details that help us contextualize the story, that help us build the setting for it. In the first one, a year and a location are mentioned - January 2009 and their living room. In the last one, another location is mentioned - Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Sentence 2, however, does not present any information that can be related to the setting of the story.

(3 Points)
The gaming platforms cause people

The gaming boom represents a significant opportunity for profit.
The amounts of time and money spent on gaming are skyrocketing.
The amount of time that gamers spend gaming is wasted.

Answers

Answer:

A). The gaming platforms cause people  become overly engaged.

Explanation:

A counterargument is characterized as the argument or claim that functions to deny or oppose the previous claim. It allows the author to present both the sides of the argument and offer an objective representation to the readers.

The given argument offers the positive aspect of 'computer and video games' by informing the readers how 'they act to fulfill genuine human needs.' The most effective counterclaim to this claim can be 'the gaming platforms are causing people to become overly engaged' which is not allwoing them to focus on the important aspects of their life and damaging their health(physical and mental both) as well. This not only denies the prior claim but gives a different outlook(other than the author has given previously) to the readers to view gaming platforms. Thus, option A is the correct answer.

Even the buzzards engage in what hints at a ritualistic ceremony. Why do you think Hurston included this strange ceremony among the buzzards?

Answers

Zora Neale Hurston's incorporation of a ritualistic ceremony among the buzzards in her novel "Their Eyes Were Watching God" serves as a powerful metaphor for the cyclical nature of life and death.

The buzzards, known for their scavenging habits, are often associated with death and decay. However, Hurston suggests that even these seemingly ruthless creatures have a sense of reverence and respect for the cycle of life. The buzzards' "ceremony" of circling and waiting for their turn to feast on a carcass can be seen as a form of communal mourning and celebration of life's continuation through death.

We Didn’t Know Until it Was Too Late!

That night everything changed. It was the morning of October 30, 1995 in the small town of Falls Haven where we all grew up. Sasha, Amanda, Josh, and I decided we wanted to throw a Halloween party since tomorrow was Halloween and our parents were out of town. Before the party, we got all the supplies we needed and got the house ready.
A few hours later, It was finally time for the party and every teen from the town showed up in their costumes. Sasha and Amanda wore a matching little red riding hood outfit with a pair of black flats. The two of them matching wasn’t surprising to anyone because they were twins and they did everything together whether it be small or big they did it and they were the craziest, down-to-earth people I know. Now Josh on the other hand was the opposite out of all of us, he was the popular kid, captain of the football team, the perfect guy you thought you would only see on T.V. He ended up coming to the party in just his red and black football jersey. I ended up wearing my yellow and black plaid outfit from my favorite movie Clueless.

~Later on that night~

“Hey Josh, have you seen Sasha anywhere? I haven’t seen her anywhere” I asked Josh.
“No I haven’t, but I can help you look for her” he said.
So that’s what we did, we looked everywhere, in the sparkly clean bathroom, in the old creaking tree house we used to go up when we were little, and every single cabinet and room in the house. It wasn’t until we went to the backyard we found her and what we saw will haunt us forever. What we saw was Sasha's body lying face down in the pool. Josh and I pulled her out of the pool and tried to get her conscious but everything we did nothing worked and so I checked her pulse and it was silent.
“I think she’s dead, what are we going to do? I said frantically.
“We need to call the police and tell them,” he said.
“No,no,no, no we can’t tell the police, if my mom were to find out I was having a party then I would be dead.” I said to him.
“Are you seriously only worried about your mom when our friend is literally dead” he said.
“Of course not, but we can’t tell the police because we will all be arrested if they were to show up since we were illegally drinking and smoking. We need to get rid of her body” I said to him.
“But where?” He asked.
“I think I know a place.” I said to him.
So we put Sasha’s body in a bag and poured bleach, baking soda, and detergent in as well so that it wouldn’t smell and then we went into the car and drove one and a half hour away to an old abandoned cabin in the woods and buried her body under the house.
“We can’t tell anyone what happened tonight or where we hid the body understand” I told him
“Okay, but what if someone asks anything about her?” He asks.
“Then you tell them that we couldn’t find her that night at the party and thought she just left and we tried to call her but she didn’t answer.” I said to him.
It's been months since Sasha’s death and everyone has slowly started to forget about it.
Amanda hasn’t been the same since her sister died and everytime I talk to her I just want to tell her the truth of what happened but I know it would just make things worse. I would ask her if she was okay and everytime her response was “yeah I’m fine” and I know deep down that she isn’t. As time went on, everyone forgot about what happened to Sasha and everything went back to normal. Two years later, Amanda ended up moving to California and becoming a doctor. She even ended up having two twin daughters with her husband Jack. As for Josh and I, We ended up getting married and having 4 children. Josh now works as a football coach at the local high school near our house and I work for the FBI. Even though sometimes I stress and worry about what if they end up finding the body, I just try to focus on now with my family and work and if they do find her body later on then I will deal with it then.
Even though that night changed everything for us, I don’t think I would have wanted it any other way because it gave me the life that I have today.
The End.

Write your answer correctly! pick an letter to make a new word!
1. Puso (m,p,n) =?

Answers

Adding the letter "p" to "Puso" results in the most sensible and potentially usable word, "Pumpo."

The word "Puso" is given, and the task is to form a new word by adding one letter to it. The options are "m," "p," or "n." After considering all three options, the resulting word can be "Pumpo."

"Pumpo" is not a commonly used word in the English language, but it can be interpreted as a playful or colloquial way of saying "pump" or "pumping." The addition of the letter "m" would result in "Pumso," which does not have any apparent meaning or context. Explanation:

Words have the power to evoke powerful emotions and images in our minds. They can create vivid and cruel images that one cannot escape from, but they can also create beauty and magic through their subtle power.

Words can give a plastic form to formless things, and they can have a music of their own as sweet as that of a viol or lute. Words are very real, even if they are intangible. They can shape our thoughts, our beliefs, and our actions. They can create empathy, understanding, and compassion, but they can also create division, hatred, and fear.

Therefore, it is important to use words carefully and thoughtfully, recognizing their power and potential impact. In conclusion, while words can be terrible and cruel, they also have a subtle magic and power to shape our perceptions and create beauty and meaning in our lives.

The four functions of language, that is, to define, to evaluate, to influence and to reflect, are interrelated by the goals of that communication. These often also overlap while sending and receiving messages.

The four functions, defining, evaluating, influencing and reflecting, encapsulate different aspects of communication. The first two are for expressing observations and thoughts, while the latter two are for expressing feelings and needs. The common factor among them is expression, that connects the sender and the receiver of the information.

Language molds the way the information gets passed between the sender and the receiver. These four functions guide this process of how the interaction itself happens. They require special attention thus, because both parties are emotionally and necessarily invested in this process.
