The monkey's paw is bad in some ways and something to stay away from (option c).

Cole's experience with the old man sheds light on the true nature of the monkey's paw, revealing that it is not a harmless charm as some may believe. Instead, it is depicted as something ominous and dangerous, cautioning people to stay away from it.

Firstly, the old man's encounter with the monkey's paw results in tragic consequences. As Cole recounts the story, he reveals how the old man's wishes, granted by the paw, led to a series of unfortunate events. The old man's initial wish for money resulted in the death of his son, followed by the subsequent wish to bring his son back to life, which resulted in an unnatural and terrifying resurrection. These events demonstrate that the monkey's paw carries a malevolent power that can bring about disastrous outcomes.

Moreover, Cole mentions that the old man warns others about the monkey's paw, urging them to avoid it at all costs. This cautionary advice from someone who has experienced the paw's effects firsthand further emphasizes its harmful nature. It implies that the monkey's paw possesses a dark force or a curse that brings misery and tragedy to those who tamper with it.

In conclusion, Cole's experience with the old man highlights the negative aspects of the monkey's paw, suggesting that it is not a harmless trinket but rather something to be feared and avoided. It serves as a cautionary tale, emphasizing the potential dangers that arise from meddling with supernatural objects.

I looked down at Mitchell and stopped, knowing that despite our understanding, he was itching for a fight with me. Now, I don’t know what possessed me in that moment to say the next thing I did. Maybe I was feeling guilty that because I was my daddy’s son, I could ride Ghost Wind. Maybe it was that, but it wasn’t out of fear I said what I said. I no longer was afraid of Mitchell. “You want to ride him?” I asked.

Mitchell took a step backward. It was obvious he hadn’t expected me to say that. “You know I can’t ride him,” he said. “Your white daddy’d kill me.”

“You want to ride him?” I asked again.

Mitchell looked at the stallion, then at me. “So, what if I do?”

Answer:

Explanation:

Well, in theory, if a lot of people die, the dangerous hot climate could change into a more colder one, since every people on earth produces a lot of CO2, which is affecting a lot the Earth year over year.

For example, a human uses 7 liters per minute. 20% of these liters is oxygen. From this oxygen, 15% gets out when we exhale, but, 5% of the oxygen is used and converted to CO2. That means, 0.07 liters of co2 are converted by a human every minute. That's 36,792 liters of co2 per year, which is very huge, because this is just for 1 man every year. Think about 8 billions. That would be 294,336,000,000,000 liters of co2 produced by mankind, just converted by our organism. We also have to consider all of the other factor that produce heat though. For example factories and vulcanoes.  All the vulcanoes on the planet, produce a total of 6.4 million tons of co2.

The manking produce 294,336,000,000 meters cubed of co2. If we know the density of co2, we can calculate the amount of mass produce by us.

density of co2 = 1.98 kg/m3 aproximately

density = mass / volume

1.98 = mass / 294,336,000,000 meters cubed of co2

mass = 582,785,280,000 tons of CO2 produce by manking every year.

The co2 produce by vulcanes is equal to 6.400.000 tons of CO2.

If less people would've been on the planet, the less CO2 it would be.

The carbon dioxide creates the greenhouse effect, which makes all the heat of planet Earth unescapeable. The more co2, the more hotter the planet gets, which could mean an apocalypse. The sad part is that to really save the planet, is that people have to be less. That's the only advantage of corona virus.

why has the language for my 2011 kia soul bluetooth connection suddenly changed from english to french?

Answers

Explanation:

There could be a few possible reasons why the language for your 2011 Kia Soul's Bluetooth connection has suddenly changed from English to French. Here are some potential explanations:

1. Accidental Language Selection: It's possible that the language setting was unintentionally changed. Sometimes, when navigating through menus or settings, it's easy to inadvertently select a different language option. Double-check the settings menu of your Kia Soul's Bluetooth system to ensure that the language is set to English.

2. System Update or Glitch: If your Kia Soul recently received a software update, it's possible that the update altered the language settings. In some cases, software updates can cause unexpected changes or glitches. If this is the case, you may need to reset the system or contact your Kia dealership for assistance.

3. Interference or Malfunction: It's also possible that there is an interference or malfunction within the Bluetooth system itself, causing the language to change. In this situation, it would be advisable to have the system checked by a qualified technician to diagnose and resolve the issue.

To resolve the problem and change the language back to English, follow these general steps:

1. Access the settings menu on your Kia Soul's Bluetooth system. This is usually done through the infotainment system or a dedicated settings button.

2. Look for the language or display settings option.

3. Select English as the preferred language.

4. Save the changes and exit the settings menu.

If you're unable to locate the language settings or encounter any difficulties, referring to your vehicle's owner manual or contacting a Kia dealership for guidance would be beneficial.

It's worth noting that the exact steps may vary depending on the specific model and version of the Kia Soul, so consulting the vehicle's documentation or seeking professional assistance is always recommended if you encounter any difficulties.

CAN SOMEONE Please help me with this Can someone help me make two claims for my thesis, the poem is still

Answers

Answer: Certainly! "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou is a powerful poem with many potential themes and messages. Here are two potential claims you could make for your thesis:

Through the use of powerful imagery and repetition, Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise" asserts the importance of resilience in the face of adversity.

Evidence for this claim might include the poem's repeated refrain of "I rise" and the way in which Angelou describes various forms of oppression and marginalization throughout the poem.

"Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou can be read as a feminist anthem, as it celebrates the strength and resilience of women in the face of patriarchal oppression.

Evidence for this claim could include the poem's use of imagery related to women's bodies (such as "sassiness" and "sexiness") and the way in which Angelou acknowledges and challenges the societal forces that seek to keep women down.

Of course, there are many other potential claims and angles you could take with a poem as rich and multifaceted as "Still I Rise." These are just two examples to get you started. Good luck with your thesis!

Einstein was probably the most famous scientist since Newton. Write 500 words to describe Einstein's relevance to the Manhattan project. You report should include a description of Einstein as a person, some information about the people with whom he interacted with and some remarks on the prevailing scientific or (as relevant) social climate.

Answers

Albert Einstein's relevance to the Manhattan Project was indirect, as he did not directly contribute to its development or participate in its execution.

While Einstein's name is often associated with the Manhattan Project, his actual involvement was limited. As a renowned physicist and Nobel laureate, Einstein's work, particularly his theory of relativity, laid the foundation for modern physics. However, when it came to the Manhattan Project, Einstein's role was more symbolic and advisory than practical.

Einstein was known for his pacifist beliefs and opposition to war. As a result, he did not play an active part in the development of the atomic bomb. However, his theoretical contributions, such as the famous equation E=mc², which describes the equivalence of energy and mass, had profound implications for the understanding of nuclear reactions.

The Manhattan Project, initiated in 1939, was a top-secret research and development effort aimed at creating an atomic bomb during World War II. It involved a vast number of scientists, engineers, and military personnel, including some of the brightest minds of the time. Although Einstein did not directly participate in the project, his work indirectly influenced many of the key individuals involved.

Einstein's theories on relativity and his groundbreaking papers on the photoelectric effect and the quantization of energy were widely known and respected in the scientific community. Many of the scientists and physicists directly involved in the Manhattan Project were familiar with Einstein's work and drew inspiration from it. His ideas on the nature of matter, energy, and the behavior of particles helped shape the scientific understanding that underpinned the project's goals.

Furthermore, Einstein's personal connections and correspondence with key figures of the time, such as Leo Szilard, a Hungarian-American physicist, and fellow pacifist, played a significant role in raising awareness about the potential military applications of atomic energy. Szilard, influenced by Einstein's views, drafted a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, urging him to pursue atomic research. This letter, known as the Einstein-Szilard letter, eventually led to the establishment of the Manhattan Project.

In summary, while Albert Einstein did not have a direct involvement in the Manhattan Project, his scientific achievements and his influential role in shaping the understanding of physics indirectly influenced the project and its participants. His theoretical contributions, combined with his pacifist beliefs and his correspondence with key figures, played a part in the social and scientific climate that led to the development of the atomic bomb.

What’s an example of direct characterization from part 1 of fahrenheit 451

Answer:

An example of direct characterization of personification is when it occurs during Fireman Montag entering his house after walking and having a conversation with his neighbor.

Explanation:

Read the passage and answer the questions that follows :

(1) We all want to succeed. Whether it’s in losing weight learning the guitar,
speed reading, or starting our own business. For those of us who have tried
and failed, success seems elusive. Why is it one person succeeds where another
personal fails? First and foremost, I believe it is in their mindset. But secondly,
I believe that successful people have developed certain habits, either naturally
or through research that the rest of us haven’t stumbled upon yet.
(2) What is important to you? Finding your core values may seem a bit off-topic
when it comes to success, but creating goals that are in line with your values
is key to creating intrinsic motivation. Sit and reflect on what you value most.
Pick a handful of things and actually write them down. Remind yourself of
your values every day, and reflect on whether you are honoring those values
through your work.
(3) Choose one goal to start. Something large enough that will give you a sense of
accomplishment, while aligning well with your core values. Focus is key here.
The more focused you are on one goal, the higher chance you have of success.
Set a date for success. Identify when your hope to achieve your goal. Keep
it realistic, while not giving yourself too much time. By setting a time limit, you
are making the process more real. Believe fully in your ability to achieve your
goal. Visualize yourself having completed your goal in the exact time-frame
you have chosen, although finishing early is also acceptable. You don’t need
to consider the failures that will happen along the way. Success is inevitable.
Others may think you will fail, don’t let yourself be one of them!
(4) Set up negative consequences for missing the deadline. Necessity is the mother
of all invention. If you can manage to keep yourself intrinsically motivated,
that’s great. If not, this will help kick you into gear and keep your eye on the
prize. Prioritize the tasks you have in front of you. Don’t always do the most
urgent thing first. Pick the task that’s the most important. Sometimes these
overlap, which is nice. By always accomplishing what’s most important, you
are making clear progress toward your goal.
(5) Push yourself. Go out of your comfort zone. This is the best way to learn, and
the best way to make progress quickly. If you’re looking for new ideas, being
risk averse will not help. This takes a lot of self-awareness. Try and be
conscious of when you are holding yourself back out of fear. Push yourself to
be courageous, and take that next step. Failure is inevitable when you take
risks, which is what you’ll be doing if you want to succeed. By its very definition,
the desire to succeed at something means you are risking failure. Many people
tend to give up far too early. Use failure. Treat it as a good thing, and march
on!
(6) Take time every day to sit quietly and reflect on your values, goals, and progress
made so far. Where have you excelled, and where can you do better. Is
everything you are doing still lining up with your core values? Always look for
ways to improve. Never stop learning. Know what everyone else is doing,
and what everyone else has done, and how they did it. Search wide for

Study the structure of "Sonnet 14” by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say,
"I love her for her smile—her look—her way
Of speaking gently,—for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day”—
For these things in themselves, Belovèd, may
Be changed, or change for thee,—and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry:
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.
